EffLock Liquid Admixture Calculator

To determine the amount of EffLock needed, multiply the amount of cement (by weight) with the appropriate amount of EffLock Liquid Admixture.

EffLock Liquid Admixture
3.2 oz – 4 oz (95 mL – 119 mL)
4.8 oz – 6 oz (142 mL – 178 mL)
6.4 oz – 8 oz (190 mL – 237 mL)
7.5 oz – 9.4 oz (222 mL – 278 mL)
8 oz – 10 oz (237 mL – 296 mL)
How Much EffLock Liquid Admixture is Needed?

It depends on the weight of cement included in each cubic yard. Some ready mix companies offer a 6.0, 6.5 or 7.0 bag mix design using 94 lb bags of Portland cement (and other materials that are frequently included to make up a 94 lb "bag", e.g. fly ash).

Common Weights of Cement
Per 1 Yard of Concrete:

5.0 bag mix design: 5 X 94 = 470 lbs
6.0 bag mix design: 6 X 94 = 564 lbs
6.5 bag mix design: 6.5 X 94 = 611 lbs
7.0 bag mix design: 7 X 94 = 658 lbs

Thus, a 6.0 bag mix design would necessitate at least 45.12 ounces of EffLock (0.35 gallons) per each cubic yard:

(564 ÷ 100) x 8.0 oz = 45.12 oz

Remember, add 8 oz – 10 oz (237 mL – 296 mL) of EffLock Liquid Admixture per each 100 lbs of cement.

Example: Let's say your project calls for 15 bags (80 lb. ea.) of cement (not pre-mix concrete). Multiply the respective minimum 6.4 oz (or maximum 8 oz) by 15 to determine the min. (or max.) amount of EffLock Liquid Admixture needed to be mixed with the cement:

15 bags x 6.4 oz = 96 oz of EffLock needed. Since 128 oz = 1 gallon then you need 96 ÷ 128 = 0.75 gallons of EffLock (minimum).
